10 Things: October

  1. I’m a huge supporter of the whole girl power mantra and all of the encouragement and support behind it. I’m also a huge advocate of adopting animals from shelters, #adoptdontshop, so I’m super excited to be doing a little giveaway with GRLPWRvinyl. To win some cute decals like these ‘grlpwr’ and ‘adopt’ ones (perfect for on your laptop, phone case, car, planner, etc.), all you have to do is subscribe to my blog and follow GRLPWRvinyl’s instagram. Best of luck!
  2. I also collaborated with LettuceBabe on a project this month. I put my Graphic Design 1101 skills to use and designed the graphic for a coffee mug. You can purchase it here & all of the proceeds go to 1% for the Planet, so you’re helping the planet while feeding you’re coffee addiction… a win-win.
  3. Even though I work at a dog daycare and always get to hang out with cute pups, I’ve been wanting to get involved with animals that aren’t lucky enough to have a home. So, I’ve started to volunteer at my local animal shelter regularly, and I’m so glad I finally did. It definitely pulls on your heartstrings at times seeing all the pups that need homes, but it feels so good giving them a little love and making them a little happier. Every little bit makes a difference, so go show them some well-deserved love!
  4. My latest find at Marshalls was Chip & Joanna Gaine’s book, The Magnolia Story. I’m a huge fan of them, and, of course, Fixer Upper, due to the inner-wannabe-interior-designer in me, so I’ve been really enjoying reading this.
  5. I’ve been really striving to drink more water this month and carrying a water bottle around with me at all times has made all of the difference. My Healthy Human water bottle has been a lifesaver, because I make sure to drink atleast 3 full bottles (which equals 96 oz) per day. I’m also a new brand ambassador for them :), so use the code MATTIE10 for 10% off any of their water bottles.
  6. My coffee addiction is still a thing, but I’ve also been into something new–turmeric lattes. May sound a little strange at first, but as long if you sweeten a little and make it creamy with a non-dairy milk, it’s pretty delicious. This brand is one of my favorites and & I’m a sucker for their perfect packaging.
  7. Loafers have become really popular lately and I’ve living for it. They’re so convenient to throw on with any outfit and they make you look really put together. They’re also super comfy (atleast the ones I got from Target are) so that’s a major plus.
  8. Another clothing item, but not as glamorous–pajama sets. I used to just to sleep in a t-shirt and pj bottoms, but now I’ve turned into one of those people that only wears sets. There’s just something about them. Target has the best ones for good deals, too.
  9. If you’ve seen my instagram lately, you know my obsession with wall murals. Recently, I’ve been venturing around the city more, and I never realized just how much wall art there is, aka the perfect photo ops.
  10. And last but not least, This Is Us. If you aren’t watching this show, you’re missing out. It will definitely bring you close to tears at times, but it’s worth it, because it’s just sooo good.

Thank you so much for reading! Let me know what you’ve been up to throughout October in the comments! & don”t forget to enter the giveaway!
