Easy & Inexpensive Holiday DIYs

Hi guys! So we are already over halfway to Christmas (10 days to be exact), which is bittersweet, because it means Christmas is almost here, but it also means the Christmas season is already halfway over. So to get you a little more festive-if you aren’t already-I have some DIY holiday decorations for you! They’re all pretty easy and inexpensive, and you may even have most of the supplies on hand, so why not try a little project to get into the spirit a little more?

Metallic Branches

What you’ll need:

  • branches
  • gold spray paint
  • vase
  • twinkle lights (optional)

How to:

  1. Gather some sticks, either from the store or your backyard works just fine!
  2. Spray paint completely and let dry.
  3. Place in vase & add twinkle lights if you wish!

This DIY is by far the easiest one, but is also just as cute. If you don’t have a Christmas tree in your room, this will give off a similar vibe, because it just feels so magical. Or add to a room with a Christmas tree, because you can never have too much Christmas. Am I right, or am I right? The twinkle lights aren’t necessary, but they just add a little more pizazz. Also, this is great, because you can leave it out all year round!

Minimalistic Wreath

What you’ll need:

  • large ring
  • flowers/greens (easiest if they are just 1 bundle/bunch on a stick)
  • hot glue
  • ribbon

How to:

  1. Arrange flower bundles at bottom of ring how you want them.
  2. Hot glue the sticks of the bundles onto the ring.
  3. Tie a bow around the middle.
  4. Tie a loop at top of ring with more ribbon, if desired, or just use the actual ring to hang it.

This one is probably my favorite out of all the decor pieces, because it looks so fancy and like it was a lot more work than it actually was. I love the minimalist feel to it and how trendy it makes a wreath feel. Hang it on the wall, on the door, on the doorknob, or any place else you can think of!

Calligraphyย Wood Slice

What you’ll need:

  • wood slice
  • permanet marker/calligraphy pen
  • pencil (optional)

How to:

  1. Plan what you want to draw/write on the wood & write in pencil.
  2. Go back over in sharpie/black ink. (or just completely skip step 1 if you trust yourself enough haha)

I love writing words/phrases and trying to perfect my handwriting-and actually find it pretty relaxing/therapeutic-so I love doing these types of projects. If you aren’t too fond of your handwriting or want to go a different route, you could do a simple drawing or even paint a pattern. You could use this to place candles or perfume on or just as a simple decor piece. I just love how rustic and homemade it feels.

Doily Tree

What you’ll need:

  • 3 doilies
  • wooden stick/skewer
  • hot glue
  • mini wood slice

How to:

  1. Cut halfway down the middle of each of the doilies.
  2. Wrap them around themselves to form a cone shape and glue down.
  3. Poke a stick/skewer down the middle of the three & arrange equal distances from each other. Hot glue to makes sure they stay in place.
  4. Glue bottom of stick to wood slice.

This one is probably the hardest of them all-but also still pretty easy. If you’re more of a visual person, it may be easier to watch this quick videoย just to see it in action. I love this, because I feel like it looks like a cute decor piece you could find at Anthropologie. Also, feel free to decorate the doilies as you like!

Hope these got you in the Christmas spirit even more! If you decide to do any of these, I’d love to see pictures! Also, let me know if you have any easy DIY ideas! Thanks for reading, friends! ๐Ÿ™‚
