Snacks & Treats Essentials

So you can probably tell that I’m a huge foodie, but I also consider myself a huge snacker. I’m not one of those people that is content just eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I love snacking throughout the day, usually between lunch and dinner, and then a treat after dinner, because I have a major sweet tooth!

I’m always discovering new treats thanks to my foodie friends and the fact that one of my favorite things to do is roam the health aisle at the grocery store, but, lately, these have been my favorite snacks and treats!

Kombucha

Ok, so you might be tired of hearing about Kombucha by now, but it backs up its hype. Besides the fact that it’s good for you, it’s also really tasty. I stopped drinking soda about 3 years ago and I honestly don’t miss it at all. If your looking for something to replace your soda addiction, this could be it for you! There’s a ton of flavors (although, you’ll probably like some more than others, because some are pretty unique, i.e. mint ginger lime) They are a tad bit pricey, so I usually drink about 2 per week. One of my goals in life is to be one of those people that has the patience to make their own, but we’ll cross that bridge when we get there.

Lara Bars

These are a lifesaver. You’ve probably heard ‘the fewer ingredients, the better’ and these definitely follow that mantra. Most of them have no added sugar, getting their sweetness purely from dates, so that’s a major bonus. I have one of these almost everyday as a snack and it does not disappoint. My favorite flavors are cookie dough (legit tastes like cookie dough, and I’m not just saying that) and mint chocolate chip (tastes exactly like a York patty) So simple, yet so good.

Boom Chicka Pop

Guys, I forgot how good popcorn truly is. I’ve been so obsessed with it lately and all the different flavors you can get. Again, I have a major sweet tooth, so somehow I always turn savory foods into sweet ones, i.e. my extra loaded dessert sweet potato. So, naturally, my favorite flavor of Boom Chicka Pop is sweet and salty. But, fair warning, because it’s definitely addicting. (Also, it doesn’t hurt that their packaging is so adorable)

So Delicious No-Sugar Added Ice Cream

If you want to be a little healthier, but also treat yourself, this is the perfect option. It’s dairy free and has no added sugar, so basically it’s healthy. You truly can’t tell that this is dairy free, and, again, I’m not just saying that because I don’t eat dairy. The only minor downside is that they don’t offer that many flavors, but that’s easy to get around by adding fun toppings, i.e. melted peanut butter, frozen berries, or even dark chocolate as mentioned below.

Dark Chocolate

And, last but not least, a staple on my list, dark chocolate. I’ve always preferred dark chocolate over milk chocolate, which worked out well when I decided to stop eating dairy. Enjoy Life is a great option, because it has such few ingredients (pretty much just cocoa and sugar). And you’ve probably heard how dark chocolate has health benefits from the antioxidants, so you can even go as far as calling it healthy!

    This post is everything to me right now! Since becoming pregnant I am starving ALL the time, and have been on a major hunt for some great snacks!! Thank you so much for sharing, heading to the store tomorrow to buy some Kombucha 😉

    Yessss – give me all the snacks! LOVE Kombucha, and well, everything you listed. My go-to dark chocolate is the Simply Lite from Trader Joes with almonds…. so good, no added sugar.

    I loooove snacking – and I think I’ve tried all these products! Have you tried the coconut bliss ice cream? It’s hands down my favourite vegan ice cream 🙂

      It reminds me of soda, because it’s carbonated, but there are so many flavors to choose from!

    I have tried that popcorn before and love it! I am a dark chocolate fiend! I eat it every day. Just can’t get on board with kombucha, though.

    All of these sound amazing! I ended up giving up soda when I finally started drinking kombucha and la croix. I’m obsessed with both now. Definitely need to give Lara bars a try though!
